Hire

Is the youth accommodation available on a certain date?

How do I make a reservation?

You can book online via this link.

A deposit of 25% is required to confirm your reservation.

How much does an overnight stay cost?

Our prices are calculated per person per night and depend on your group type: recognised youth work, other youth work, and adults & families.

Choose the right target group here and calculate the price of your stay.

Which day rooms are available?

  • Balou (dining hall) (area 90m²)
  • Bagheera (area 45m²)
  • Junior (area 18.5m²)

Balou room, the dining hall, is included. Other day rooms are optionally available for hire.

Day rooms are hired for the entire stay (not per day).

How does the stay work?

Please let us know in advance what time you arrive and depart.

Check-in is always possible from 5 pm.

Check-out is always possible until 1 pm.

Please arrive on time: a caretaker will welcome you to hand over the keys and provide more information.

Can I book full board?

Yes, in collaboration with our caterer, breakfast, lunch, packed lunch and hot meals are all possible. Our caterer always takes allergens and dietary preferences into account. The caterer takes the dirty dishes back themselves, so washing up is no longer needed. You only need to serve and enjoy!

Can we hire with fewer than 40 people?

Because the entire building is always rented to just one group at a time, you pay for at least 40 people with us.

Of course you can be present with fewer guests. The 40-person rule simply applies as the minimum price for hiring the entire building.

Accommodation

Is there (free) parking?

Yes, there is free parking. Right next to the youth accommodation there are more than 250 parking spaces. These are shared with the adjacent sports centre.

During your stay you will receive a parking pass to open the barriers of this car park free of charge and without limit.

Is the stay shared with other groups?

No, the stay is rented to only one group at a time.

Is there a terrace?

Yes, a fenced, paved terrace of approx. 250m² adjoins the building. It is marked on the aerial photos below. Also see the video and photos under Photos.Foto's

On the other side of the car park there is also a large (publicly accessible) activity area. If you want to organise an activity there, you can contact the owner Aalst Sport via info@aalstsport.be.

Is ... available? What do we need to bring ourselves?

Available

  • 🔥 4 large gas burners and an electric oven
  • 🌐 Wi-Fi
  • 🍽️ Crockery, cutlery, glasses... for 55 people
  • 🍳 Cookware: large pots, pans, spatulas, whisks, spoons, etc.
  • 🛏️ Duvets and pillows (no sheets!)
  • 📺 A projector/beamer hanging from the ceiling in Balou room (the dining hall). An HDMI cable is also provided
  • ☕️ Coffee maker: a large machine is available to make coffee for the whole group. Filters are available for purchase from us at €10 per filter. This will be settled with your deposit afterwards
  • ❄️ 2 large refrigerators, a freezer in a separate room
  • 🧊 2 smaller drink refrigerators in Balou room (the dining hall)
  • ♨️ Bain-maries in Balou room (the dining hall)
  • 🫧 Kettle
  • 🌀 Microwave
  • 🧻 Toilet paper
  • 🔌 Electric charging point (on the public car park at the door)

Not available / bring yourself

  • 🛌 Duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases
  • 🛁 Towels
  • 🧼 Washing-up equipment (tea towels, sponges, washing-up liquid...). There is no dishwasher, but you can hire the scullery with dishwasher
  • 🍞 Toaster
  • 🍟 Deep fryer. Deep frying is forbidden throughout the building
  • 🍖 Barbecue. Allowed in the courtyard, but bring your own

There are indeed several bakeries nearby. Including:

Is there a forest nearby?

The city park and two nature reserves are within walking distance:

  • Stadspark at 450m. Including playgrounds, maze and cafeteria.
  • Het Osbroek (forest) at 1km
  • Gerstjens (forest) at 1.5km. Natural play elements, including footbridge, available.

All locations are suitable for organising games for youth groups.

Rules

Can we hire the room for a party?

No, room hire for parties is not permitted.

Can we bring ...?

The following items are strictly forbidden in the youth accommodation:

  • 💨 Smoke machines (don't try it, the fire alarm will go off)
  • 🍟 Deep fryers (no problem on the terrace, provided the floor is protected)
  • 🚭 Smoking

You will find more agreements in our house rules, which you receive on arrival.

Do you work with a fixed brewer or can we buy our own drinks from the shop?

You may bring your own drinks.

There is no draught installation. You can hire one yourself.

Examples of drinks shops nearby: Vandenameele, Picqueur, Nuelant...

There is also a brasserie with an extensive beer menu next door: De Looyerij.

Booking and payment

Can I pay by bank transfer?

Yes, payment by bank transfer is possible, as are Bancontact and credit card.

We ask you to always pay online. We work with payment provider Mollie for this.

If you click through on the payment link you receive from us after booking, you can choose bank transfer. You will then receive an account number and structured communication to complete the transfer.

Please note:

  • Only transfers with structured communication are accepted. Mollie automatically refunds invalid transfers.
  • The structured communication is unique per payment. It therefore cannot be reused for a subsequent payment.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes, we standardly provide an invoice for all payments.

Usually two invoices are issued for a reservation:

  • You receive an invoice after payment of the deposit.
  • You receive an invoice after settlement of the stay, including refund of the deposit.

Mention of purchase order number or other information is possible.
